Forest Sorceress concept art
For this project, I was given a mock art test brief that spanned 2 weeks with an end result of 1 full colour concept painting, with the requirements "A human female sorcerer that lives in the forest and is the embodiment of good. The age/time period is up to you. The final image must not be a static view, she should be in action, using her magic in some way, and must be 300dpi and semi realistic."

For my initial sketching stage I iterated a selection of outfits that fit the forest theme, but also gave her a "pure", and "soft-hearted" appearance to convey that she is the embodiment of good. I wanted to avoid particularly long skirts, and give her a sturdy set of boots for practicality to live within, or around the forest.

For my colour iterations, I chose to go with a palette of whites, yellows, and purples, as I wanted the forest to be based in England, and within our local flowers, those colours are very prominent. Ultimately, I chose the bottom right design as it had the best balance of colour and tone in my opinion.
This slideshow shows my process of the final piece, where she is healing a birds wings from beginning to end.
